Well hello all bloggers!
I'm new to this blogging thing but have decided to give it a try, mainly because I have always wanted to, but never really thought any one would care and to be quite honest: you probably won’t. You see, the thing is, my head is always filled with random, off the wall thoughts and sayings (I'm a naturally random person). My facebook was getting backed up with all of my randomness that (let’s be honest) no one really wants to see all over their facebook page when they open it up. I know I hate it. Call me a hypocrite ... go on....it’s fine. I will leave a pause here for you to say all you want about me right now...

Well ok, now that we have that out of the way, if you’re still reading: That is awesome. If not then is shouldn't be writing to you. lol. Now, back to the other reasons why I wanted to start a blog. You see, as my blog is called, I am a stay at home mom; a stay at home mom with probably way too much time on my hands. Cleaning the house to me is a lot like what I would believe it would feel like for a train to be derailed - time consuming and tedious. My kids are all over the place, and the moment I pick something up, it stays put up for oh, I don't know maybe 5 minutes! Very frustrating. If you are a stay at mom who this little thing doesn't bother, my hats off to you because it drives me up the walls. So that I leave to once a week. I do a full clean and then of course when my grandmother comes I have to do a full spring clean even if it’s the middle of winter (more about that later). Also my kids (we will call them thing 1 and thing 2) are growing up and they just don't take near as much of my time as they used to. I will have to admit this breaks my heart.
Thing 1 started pre-k this year and next year will be going full time in school. Again, this kills me because, well, thing 2 has been independent from the day he came into this world. So he has no desire for me to play with him or talk to him. Actually he would probably prefer if I wasn't even here. lol . I miss them being babies, I really do!! But I am sure that in a few years I will say I miss them being this age.
So in order to have someone to talk to and something to do with my thoughts, I have started a blog.
Seeing how this is my first day I’m just going to give you a run-down on what has been popping in and out of my head all day long !!! MY PTA!!!
Shocked? Probably not, right? I’m a stay at home mom with a kid in school; it’s probably very common! lol
Well ok, so I live in a small little town right next to a city. So this means I live in a town that all the big shots that work in the city live in and that means that all the moms are pretty much stay at home moms too. Well that’s great for them. I mean, really, I would love to be these women but unfortunately I am not. We don't live in a big mansion and we don't have 50,000 dollar cars. We are not poor by any means; we just are not as well off as they are. Well, I joined this PTA before knowing what it was like in this town. BAD IDEA. Now I don't go to all the meetings and I have only met some of these women once so I may be wrong, but I feel like when I do get together with them. I am some fungus that is growing on their beautiful roses. I'm young, I have two kids, I don't look like a trophy wife, nor do I act like one. The looks that I get from these women just make me want to run for the hills (This saying will probably pop up a lot).
Anyways, Thing 1 had a school function last night. It was Dr. Seuss's birthday (hence the reason for my using of Thing 1 and Thing 2) and of course we went it was only a mommy and kid thing so just me and Thing 1 went. I felt like such an outcast!!! Who shows up to a school function dressed to the hills when all you do all day is take care of kids or a house???? Please someone tell me! So here I am in my blue jeans and my favorite college football team shirt on, and flip flops, might I add, and all these woman are in slacks and dressy shirts with high heels. Ugg I just wanted to turn away and go back home , but I didn't; we stayed. Thing 1 and I actually had a very good time!!! She really is a great kid!
I want to be a part of the PTA but it’s hard to be interactive with these women. I’m sure they’re nice but I’m not great with people giving me that nasty stare that speaks a thousand words. I know you know what I’m talking about!!! So in order for me to be a part of this PTA group I guess I will just have to spend my husband’s hard earned money and buy some snazzy outfits and always have my hair done and always look up to par. Hmmmmm that’s probably still not going to work because, once again, I am young and have two kids. Maybe I can find a scientist and just pay him a bunch of money to make me look older? I will have to look into that!
So that’s one thing that has been on my mind today and if you guys who are reading this have any suggestions on how to deal with this situation that would be great. Oh and might I remind you again if you are one of these woman who can look great and still do all the stuff that we do around the house: SERIOUSLY MY HATS OFF TO YOU! I'm more jealous than anything lol .
I won’t keep you much longer, I just have to add a few random thoughts to show you more into who I am. Ok,
so also .....you ready for this?! WHY IN THE WORLD HAVEN'T PEOPLE INVENTED ROBOTS YET??!! I want to go out and buy one so I don't have to do half the stuff I do! I mentioned earlier that when my grandmother comes I have to spring clean. Well that’s what I have been doing all week and will continue doing until late Friday night. You see, she is an owner of her own cleaning serves and she cleans very nice houses probably just like the women on my PTA own! (Food for thought) So I have to pretty much tie my kids up and say don't play, move, touch, just don't! I do this for a week before she gets here and then the entire time that she is here. You see, she is getting up there in age and she has a bad knee and a bad hip and has fibromyalgia (not sure if I spelled that right). So I try to make her stay as comfortable as possible and that means not having her mind looking on every shelf for dust bunnies ( if you follow my drift). She gets very into cleaning, (is a clean freak), and honestly I think she likes to clean, but I don't want her to have to do that here so I try my best! So again, why hasn't anyone made that robot so I could have some help around here?
Another short one ....it just happened. Thing 2 does not have window blinds in his room because he can’t be trusted with them (he destroys them). He knows he is not supposed to touch them but.... he does it anyway. Kids: they make me laugh .
Leaving you with that, have a great day ...or I hope you have had one (if you’re a late night reader). Blog you tomorrow!
omg, you crack me up!!
ReplyDeleteI guess I wouldn't fit in to that PTA either. You are like the opposite of those blogs I read that say "Like, seriously, I just went to the grocery store and saw this girl wearing pajama pants and flip flops to shop in. Like, OMG, doesn't anybody wear heals anymore?!" I hate those blogs so this is yet another reason I love you! Give the things a kiss from me and try dust bunny poison... might save you some work!
ReplyDeleteDon't you dare dress up for PTA meetings or school functions. Be yourself bc who are is awesome! I know exactly what you mean about the kids growing up too fast, it makes me so sad when Andrew grows out of his clothes or learns to do something on his own bc I have to admit that he is getting older; he will never be a tiny newborn again or a sweet two year old.
