Monday blog!

Hello my bloggers; how was your weekend? Good, I hope. Mine went way too fast. It’s like I woke up on Saturday and was awakened again to find it was Monday. Very sad. I hate when the weekends are spent busy, busy, busy because then it seems to just go by in a flash.  What did we do this weekend? Well, we had to go grocery shopping, and that ended up also being a scavenger hunt for the cheapest deals on batteries that took us to 3 other stores until we found the greatest deal…ugg. I also had a headache at this time, so it was just miserable. After that, my brother came over to help my husband fix the boat: hooking up the battery and putting in new stuff for the motor. I don’t speak car and driver so I have no idea what they were doing. Then they fixed the trailer. Oh what fun !!!!  Sunday was spent almost in the same way except I did get to sleep in, thanks to my wonderful husband.  That’s how my weekend went. Sounds like fun, right? Ha …sure it does!

This morning I couldn’t help but think to myself “why are all kids’ cartoons without parents?” I mean, Dora has parents but they just let their 4 year old dilly dally all over the place, and time travel, and jump into story books with evil witches and mean kings. I mean, honestly, is that good parenting? Should I let my children run rampant through the streets? Umm, no, but they see Dora do it along with her wonderful cousin Diego and they think it’s ok to be left alone outside.  As my daughter told me this weekend “it’s ok, mommy, you go take a nap. I will watch Justin; I’m a big girl now.” I was like “yes, my dear, you are 4 years old going on 20. Sure, I will just take a nap wile you run rampant all over my house and destroy everything. Why not? All the cartoon children are doing it.” It’s not just Dora, either: all the cartoons with toddler characters in it like Little Bear, Olivia, Little Einsteins and so much more. They do teach our children lots of good things but they teach the older children watching some bad things as well. Now don’t get me wrong, I love that my kids watch these shows because they have learned how to count in Spanish, sing their ABC’s before starting school, and so much more. The point I am getting at now is how hard would it be to have a little bit more parent interaction in these cartoons?  It wouldn’t be hard at all, just more time consuming!

Okay, and here is another thing: BIRDS ARE ANOYING!!  I have birds all over the place here in spring and in the fall. I guess you would call them black birds. They are not as big as crows but they are black so that’s what I’m going to call them. They live in my yard, or up in my trees, and they squawk and drive me nuts all day!!! It makes me want to pull out one of our many guns and just starting shooting these stupid birds! But I won’t do that because I know they will go away eventually; I just have to wait ‘til then. But still, birds are very, very annoying! Here is a picture of my trees covered in the birds. Not a great picture because there are more than you can see but still, you will get the picture.

On a side note, I think my dog Penny has hurt her back leg muscle :( very worried about her !!!

That’s all for today my blogger buddies; blog you tomorrow!
